In short

Threes has no account and no server of its own. Everything you record stays on your device. We do not collect personal data; what leaves your phone is anonymous usage statistics (see Network use) and, only when you choose to watch an ad, the data Google needs to show it (see Ads).

Camera and Photos

Threes asks for the camera to record your clips and for permission to add to Photos so it can save your finished video. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Data on your device

Clips, thumbnails, drafts, fonts you add and your settings are stored only on your device. They are removed when you delete them in the app or delete the app.

Purchases

Threes Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details or Apple ID. Restoring a purchase also goes through Apple.

Network use

The app connects to the internet only to check whether a newer version exists, by asking Apple's App Store about the app's own identifier and your store region, and possibly by fetching a small update-notice file from our hosting. No device identifiers are sent. Threes also uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how the app is used: which screens open, which templates and filters are chosen, whether a three is finished or a purchase is made. This sends a random app-instance ID, device model, OS version, language and approximate region to Google. It never includes your videos, photos, labels or any account — there is none. No advertising identifier (IDFA) is used and there is no cross-app tracking.

Ads

Ads are optional. On the free plan you can watch a short video ad to add one custom template; an ad appears only when you tap to watch it. There are no banner or pop-up ads, and Pro users see no ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob. When you watch one, Google's SDK receives your IP address (used for approximate location), device model, OS version, language, an app-scoped device ID and how you interact with the ad, so it can deliver the ad, measure it and prevent fraud. Threes does not ask to track you and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form appears before your first ad, and you can change your choice anytime in Settings → Ad privacy settings. Android

The Android version of Threes works the same way, with these differences. It asks for the camera and, on Android 9 only, for storage access to save your video; finished videos and images are saved to your gallery (Movies/Threes and Pictures/Threes). When you import from your album it uses the system photo picker, so the app only receives the item you choose. Threes Pro is sold through Google Play Billing: Google handles payment, and we never see your payment details or Google account; purchases are restored with the same Google account. The update check only fetches the small update-notice file from our hosting. Usage statistics go through the same Google Analytics for Firebase described above; the Android advertising ID is not accessed or collected. The Android app has no ads.

Sharing

When you share a video, it is handed to the app you choose, and that app's privacy policy applies.

Children

Threes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
